Lois has been a physical therapist since 1997 but she has worked in the rehab field for almost 25 years. She graduated from Shenandoah University with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy in 1977. While she has mostly worked in outpatient orthopaedics, she has gained experience in a variety of settings: in-patient acute care, subacute rehabilitation, and treating patients with neurological disorders. She was raised in Chantilly, Virginia and owning a clinic close to home is a dream fulfilled. Her philosophy when treating patients is all about the patient: providing the best quality of care and using a "one-on-one" hands-on approach. It works: Just ask her patients!
Having graduated from the University of Illinois in 1978 with a degree in English and Psychology, she returned to school in her 30s to pursue her dream of becoming a physical therapist. In 1995 she graduated summa cum laude from Howard University with a degree in Physical Therapy. It's hard to remember a time when she wasn't a PT. She especially enjoys motivating her patients and helping them achieve their personal goals.
Like Lois, Jan has spent most of her career in outpatient orthopaedics, but she has experience in in-patient acute care, subacute rehab, and aquatherapy. She has a certification in massage therapy, as well as a certification in Performing Arts Medicine. She has special training in the treatment of dancers and musicians and the problems and injuries that are specific to that population. As a lifelong golfer, she also has a special interest in rehabilitating golfers and working to improve their strength and flexibility.
In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, golfing, and going to the beach with friends and family.
